Gold Star Memorial Bridge Sidewalk between Groton and New London to be Closed for an Estimated Two Weeks Beginning on December 16, 2019
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the sidewalk on the Gold Star Memorial Bridge between Groton and New London will be closed for approximately two weeks, beginning on December 16, 2019. The closure is necessary to facilitate modifications to the existing pedestrian railing system in locations adjacent to the newly installed overhead sign support structures.

Public Information Meeting Concerning Proposed Replacement of Bridge 01489 Carrying Route 178 (Park Avenue) over Beamans Brook, and Proposed Replacement of Bridge 05576 Carrying Route 185 (Simsbury Road) over Tumbledown Brook Channel, in Bloomfield
The Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting concerning the proposed replacement of Bridge 01489 carrying Route 178 (Park Avenue) over Beamans Brook and the proposed replacement of Bridge 05576 carrying Route 185 (Simsbury Road) over Tumbledown Brook Channel, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the Bloomfield Community Center, 330 Park Avenue, Bloomfield, CT. The formal presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019, at the same time and place.

Bridge Inspection Requiring Temporary Closure of Route 8 Exit 5 Northbound Off-Ramp to SR722 (Chopsey Hill Road)
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that bridge inspection work will be performed on Route 8 northbound at Exit 5 in Bridgeport. The Route 8 northbound off-ramp to SR722 (Chopsey Hill Road) will be closed to traffic during the inspection process. This project is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 8, and Sunday, December 15, 2019, weather permitting.

An open forum for individual discussions with Department officials will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a formal presentation at 7:00 p.m.
