When replacing a learner's permit, please make an appointment at a DMV office. Commercial learner's permit, motorcycle learner’s permit and drive-only learner’s permit can only be replaced in a DMV office.
Appointments for our DMV Express locations cannot be made online. Please contact your local DMV express office, AAA location or Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union Locations. Note: these locations may charge a convenience fee up to $8 per DMV transaction.
You will get a temporary permit at your appointment. Your permanent duplicate learner's permit will arrive in the mail at the mailing address on file with the DMV within 20 business days. If you have mail forwarding, you will NOT receive your new learner's permit.
