About Us
The Office of Construction has a Work Zone Safety Team that conducts field reviews of construction and maintenance projects to ensure compliance with work zone-related contract specifications and traffic plans. The team's goals are to identify potential issues and best practices that help make Connecticut's work zones safer and more mobile for the traveling public.
From the field reviews, the findings are taken to the Work Zone Process Review where the Department analyzes its whole Work Zone Program. All work zone related policies, practices, and innovative ideas are considered for revision or implementation. The review team led by the CTDOT Office of Construction is comprised of multiple units within the Department and a representative from the Connecticut Division of Federal Highway Administration.
