Governor Rell's 'Summer Reading Challenge' to Celebrate the Joy of Reading
Governor M. Jodi Rell on Thursday will congratulate Connecticut students for reading over 1.1 million books in the "2006 Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge," and ask students statewide to "make reading a part of your summer this year," as she issues her reading challenge to Connecticut’s children this summer.

State Department of Education Reports 2005-06 'Adequate Yearly Progress' for Districts
Eighty-one percent of Connecticut’s school districts achieved the standards for adequate yearly progress (AYP) for the 2005-06 school year under the No Child Left Behind Act. A total of 139 of the state’s 171 local, regional and statewide school districts met the AYP standards.
