You can’t file a dissolution using a date that precedes the day of filing. The date you file your certificate of dissolution is the date your business is considered closed even if you haven’t conducted any business for a long time.
You can file a future date of dissolution. For example, you may file a certificate of dissolution in November with the effective date of December 31 and be able to conduct business until the end of the year.
