Filing a final tax return will not close your business

You may believe that filing a final tax return is all you need to do to close your business, but there's a little more you need to do. The process of closing a business in CT also involves filing a Certificate of Dissolution. Please file directly here, or visit our business filings page to file a business dissolution.

You start and close your business by submitting a business filing with the Secretary of the State office.  Please file a dissolution to ensure your business is properly closed.
