What is Open Choice?

Open Choice Schools are an Interdistrict public school options in the Greater Hartford Region. This provides opportunities for students to attend schools outside of their home district.

Who is Eligible?

Students entering PK (age 4) through grade 12 may apply to an Open Choice School. Hartford residents may apply to attend a public school in a school district located outside of Hartford. Non-Hartford residents may apply to attend a public school located in Hartford.

How can I find out what my choices are?

Your resident address is uses to determine which school district(s) you can choose from. If you are a suburban (non-Hartford) resident, then your choice will be the Hartford Open Choice schools available for entry grades Kindergarten through 10th grade.

If you resident address is in the city of Hartford, then the part of Hartford you live in determines which Zone you are eligible for. Hartford is divided up into four (4) zones and different suburban towns are in those zones
