Help the Connecticut Department of Transportation Develop the Next Generation of Rail Cars
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is seeking public input from Connecticut residents and regular rail riders as it develops the state’s next generation of rail cars. CTDOT is purchasing a fleet of new rail cars to replace its existing push-pull coaches operating on the Hartford Line, Shore Line East, Danbury Line and Waterbury Line.

REMINDER - CTDOT ANNOUNCES RAIL ACCIDENT SIMULATION TRAINING DRILL FOR SATURDAY
As a reminder, a simulated rail accident training drill will occur on Saturday, September 14, 2019 between 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in New Haven. The drill, which will appear and sound realistic, will take place as part of ongoing safety training, practice, reinforcement, and refinement exercises designed to achieve the highest level of safety along the CTrail Hartford Line and Shore Line East.

Distracted Driving Campaign to Begin August 1
The Connecticut Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Office today announced the second wave of the "U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY." campaign. Through this initiative, officers will be cracking down on motorists who text, talk, or distract themselves with a hand-held mobile phone while driving. The campaign runs from August 1 - 15, and is now in its fifth year.

CTDOT Launches Go CT Mobile Fare Payment App For CTtransit Bus Riders
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced today the availability of the new Go CT Mobile app in both the Google Play and Apple App stores. This new app extends the capabilities of the Go CT Card by allowing riders to pay their CTtransit or CTfastrak bus fare, as well as see their account balance and transaction history while on the go.

CTDOT Seeking Additional Input on Next Fleet of Rail Cars
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is in the beginning stages of purchasing a new fleet of rail cars. An initial public survey was launched September 12, 2019 and closed October 14, 2019. The Department received a significant number of responses that provided great insight into what customers would like to see in the state’s next generation of rail cars. However, the project team has realized that the procurement process would benefit from additional customer insight via a short follow-up survey.
