Fans Can Ride Buses and Trains to the NCAA Men’s Tournament in Hartford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing enhanced customer service to assist passengers using buses and trains to attend the NCAA Men’s Tournament 1st and 2nd round games at the XL Center in Hartford on March 21 and 23, 2019.

CTrail Hartford Line train service will be operating on a full schedule on both days, with Hartford departures for return trips as late as approximately 10:30 pm. Additional rail cars will be added to Amtrak Hartford Line trains for the games. Hartford Line service ambassadors will be on hand at Union Station in Hartford to answer questions about the rail service and to assist passengers with the ticket vending machines. The XL Center is just a short walk from Union Station in Hartford, and parking is always free on weekends and holidays at the Berlin, Meriden, Wallingford, Windsor and Windsor Locks stations. For schedules and fares, please visit www.hartfordline.com.

Fans can also take advantage of one-seat rides to Hartford on CTfastrak and CTtransit from several area Park and Ride lots and bus stops, to stops within a block of the XL Center. CTfastrak will have additional buses on standby and will have ambassadors at stations to assist passengers with the ticket vending machines and to answer questions on the schedules and the bus rapid transit service. Parking will also be free at all CTfastrak stations with parking lots and at the Szczesny Garage in downtown New Britain (with a valid CTfastrak ticket).

Local CTtransit bus service will be on a regular schedule and will be available from throughout the greater Hartford region. For fans coming in from out of state, the 30-Kennedy Road (Bradley Flyer) route operates nearly hourly, seven days per week, from Bradley International Airport to Union Station in Hartford. The fare for the Bradley Flyer is just $1.75, one-way. For schedules and fares for CTfastrak and CTtransit, please visit www.cttransit.com
