K-9 Olympics Home
The Connecticut K-9 Olympics is entering its 31st year. The event is an all-day competition involving K-9 units from local police departments, CT State Police, and Department of Corrections. Teams are evaluated during a competition in an arena style setting. Areas of competition include, but are not limited to a tactical drill, obedience, obstacles, and a K9 Apprehension Drill.
Also available will be static displays of equipment used by law enforcement to include present day and historical Police vehicles and weapon systems. This will include specialty vehicles, the Department of Correction CERT team, narcotic and bomb detection dogs, and a variety of other police and animal related services.
Money raised through the sales of apparel and food, raffles and donations, is returned to local charities. This year money raised will go to the Hometown Foundation Special Olympics and Mark-9. In addition, donations will be made to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers' charities of choice.
