Campground Information

Access

Campsites are available for rental until 9:00 PM each evening. Your validated camp receipt will serve as your pass. Please display it in your windshield so that it may be checked by the office. After sunset, all vehicles will be checked at the main gate. For your protection, no vehicles will be allowed into the campground without a pass. Park areas outside the campground are closed after sunset. Beach and day use areas open at 8:00 AM.

Vehicles

Each camping permit allows for a maximum of two vehicles in the park. Only one four-wheeled vehicle, other than the designated camping equipment, may be parked on a campsite. If a second vehicle is registered to the site, it must be parked in one of the designated areas provided. All-wheels, cars, trailers, etc., must remain on the paved surface of the campsite. All vehicles and equipment should be backed onto the campsite.

Visitors and Guests

Visitors may enter the campground from 8:00 AM to sunset and must use designated parking areas. Visitors must leave the park by 10:00 PM.

Quiet Hours

Please respect other campers' rights to quiet. Quiet Hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please refrain from loud conversation, music, or generator operation. Lanterns should be extinguished.

Campfires

Fire rings are provided at each campsite. Fires are allowed only in the fire rings. No ground fires are permitted. Campers may purchase firewood at the camp office.

Water

Taps for drinking water are provided at locations indicated on the map. Public health regulations do not permit washing at the taps. Trailer/RV hookups are not available; water hoses may not be left connected to taps.

Toilets

Each camping circle has a central toilet building with hot showers. Pit toilets and composting toilets are provided in the Tent Area.

Trash

Please sort your trash and place bottles/cans and garbage in the recycling bins provided. Recycling locations are indicated on the map. There are many nocturnal animals that frequent the campground. It is therefore advisable to store all food and trash in a secure place overnight.

Retail

A variety of retail services are available in the center of Niantic, Route 156, approximately 3 miles east of the park (right turn as you exit the park).
Bicycles

Campers are encouraged to utilize bicycles for transportation and recreation during the day. Bicycles are prohibited from Beach, boardwalk and picnic areas south of the railroad tracks. For safety reasons, there will be no bicycling after sunset. Protect your bicycle from theft, bring and use a lock.

Hospital

Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, New London. Proceed North on I-95 and take Exit 75. Follow Route 1 North for 4.7 miles, turn right on Willets Avenue, go .6 miles and turn right at the light onto Ocean Avenue. The hospital emergency room is 1/2 mile on the left.

Checkout

Checkout time is 12:00 noon. Please inform the camp supervisor of an unscheduled early departure.
