Special Fishing Events
Special fishing events encompass a broad array of fishing-related activities and events sponsored by the CARE Program. They are designed to increase student awareness, fishing skills, and provide a much-needed positive first fishing experience!
Special fishing events are often single-day events. The number of attendees varies greatly, from 15 to 1,500. Most classes include teaching fishing skills and are led by volunteers. Examples of different Special Fishing Events include ice fishing derbies, saltwater fishing days, “Second Cast Fishing Trips”, fishing events at Community Fishing Waters, clinics held prior to town fishing derbies, Take A Vet Fishing events, and various DEEP No Child Left Inside® outdoor events.
