Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced funding for The Lee Company to grow its business operations in Westbrook as part of an expansion project that will keep 862 current employees in Connecticut and create up to 200 new positions for residents.

Gov. Malloy: Starwood Hotels Worldwide Will Expand in Stamford and Create Jobs for Residents
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith, Starwood executives and other state and local officials, today announced that Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. is expanding its global headquarters in Stamford. Starwood will be creating 340 new full-time jobs in the state, in addition to retaining its current workforce of 980 employees.

Gov. Malloy: Global Leader in Corporate Relocation Management Services to Expand and Grow Jobs in Danbury
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Cartus Corporation, a leading provider of global relocation services, is expanding its headquarters in Danbury to grow its presence in the state after considering other options in New York and Texas. As part of the project, Cartus will retain 1,275 jobs in Connecticut and create as many as 200 new jobs for residents over the next five years.

Malloy, joined by state Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Commissioner Donald DeFronzo, state Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Catherine Smith, Head of Pfizer Pharmatherapeutics R&D Rod MacKenzie, PhD, representatives from Connecticut’s bioscience research organizations, and other state and local officials, today announced that an agreement has been reached to put two vacant buildings on Pfizer’s Groton campus back into productive reuse as a bioscience innovation center for Connecticut United for Research Excellence (CURE) and as a new DAS state data center.

Malloy, joined by state Comptroller Kevin Lembo, today launched Data.ct.gov, Connecticut’s new open data portal that allows widespread amounts of raw government data to be collected, placed on the internet, and shared with the public in a major effort to increase government efficiency and transparency by providing an easily accessible database that residents can use for any number of purposes.
