Overview

If you have a bioscience breakthrough with strong commercial potential, you may want to learn more about financial assistance provided by the Connecticut Bioscience Innovation Fund. Administered by Connecticut Innovations, this $200 million-dollar fund seeks to speed commercialization of bioscience breakthroughs by providing focused financial assistance.

Start-ups and early-stage businesses may apply for secured convertible loans or equity. Accredited colleges and universities together with nonprofits (academics) may apply for royalty-bearing grant funding up to $500,000.


 

Eligibility

Applications are encouraged from an array of different types of organizations working in bioscience, biomedical engineering, health information management, medical care, medical devices, medical diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, personalized medicine or other related disciplines intended to impact human health, including:

  • nonprofit corporations;
  • accredited colleges and universities;
  • for-profit startup;
  • early-stage businesses.

Eligible applicants must be based in Connecticut or willing to move here.
