Beyond question, foster and adoptive parents have complex roles caring for children with often complicated lives. Parents who adopt children or provide foster care say it's the most fulfilling and important thing they've ever done. As a foster or adoptive parent, you'll have the chance to make a REAL difference -- to do something that will have lasting importance.
Connecticut Family Day was established by state law in 1997 (Public Act 97-288). Family Day shall be observed every year during the month of September with activities to be held at the State Capitol and elsewhere. The theme of Connecticut’s Family Day, "Valuing Connecticut’s Families…It’s Everybody’s Business" remains the same so that we continue to reinforce the message that families are Connecticut’s greatest resource and that all sectors of Connecticut’s society have the privilege and obligation to honor them.
