Social Equity Council Micro-Cultivator Assistance Program
The Social Equity Council will develop a program to assist Social Equity Applicants in opening two micro-cultivator establishments. The program is still in development and is contingent on current Medical Marijuana Producers converting their licenses to also serve the Adult-Use Cannabis market. When will license applications be available for the Adult Use Cannabis program?
Applications will be available soon. The Social Equity Council must first determine what information will be required for evaluation before the Department of Consumer Protection can publish any application. Please check back regularly for updated information. All applications will be online only using www.elicense.ct.gov.

A municipality must approve zoning to allow for cannabis establishments, including retailers and micro-cultivators, to operate in their community. For information about zoning restrictions or approvals in a particular municipality, please contact that municipality directly.

How can I participate in the Social Equity Lottery
Applications for the lottery will begin to be posted by the Department of Consumer Protection 30 days after the Social Equity Council identifies and posts the criteria and the necessary supporting documentation for social equity applicants on their website.

Equity Joint Venture
An Equity Joint Venture is a business entity, partnering with a licensed medical marijuana producer or medical marijuana dispensary facility, that is at least 50% owned and controlled by an individual or individuals, or the applicant is an individual, who meet certain requirements.

If I have a retailer license, can I open in more than one location, or do I need a separate license for each location?
Each location must have a separate license.
