(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman released the following statements regarding the announcement made today that Carolyn Treiss will serve as Executive Director of the state's Permanent Commission on Status of Women (PCSW):
Governor Malloy said, "PSCW provides a valuable service in our state, working in a bipartisan manner to examine and highlight issues that work towards the elimination of gender discrimination. This includes a whole host of matters impacting the lives of women, including eliminating the gender wage gap and encouraging young women to enter the STEM fields. I congratulate Carolyn on her appointment and I look forward to working with her to advance these issues."
Lt. Governor Wyman said, "I applaud PCSW on appointing Carolyn Treiss as their new Executive Director. PCSW is an important voice in the effort to establish equality for women in Connecticut, and Carolyn's background and experience will be of great benefit. As we work to increase the participation of women in government, business, and education, and as we pursue the elimination of gender bias in all of its forms, having strong, knowledgeable leadership among our allies is critical."
