FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES HIGHER EDUCATION ANNOUNCEMENT IN NORWALK; PARTICIPATES IN PLAYGROUND DEDICATION CEREMONY IN HARTFORD
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in Norwalk, where he will make an announcement regarding the expansion of higher education opportunities in the region that will encourage young adults to receive college degrees. He will be joined by Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Mayor Harry Rilling, Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor, Board of Regents President Dr. Gregory W. Gray, Board of Regents Chairman Nicholas Donofrio, Norwalk Community College President Dr. Levinson, Norwalk Superintendent Dr. Manual J. Rivera, and other state and local officials.
In the evening, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman will participate in a ceremony at Hartford's Elizabeth Park to dedicate the Ana Márquez-Greene Playground, which is being named in honor of a victim of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
