Lt. Governor to give remarks to troops being deployed to Afghanistan.
The 344th Military Police Company is headquartered in Middletown.

Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial Fundraiser
5:30 p.m. - Elks Lodge #1669, 114 Main St., Southington
Lt. Governor to give keynote remarks at approximately 6:15 p.m.
Trees of Honor is a planned tribute to the 64 Connecticut members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have lost their lives in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
To be located in Veterans' Memorial Park in Middletown, the tribute will include a tree planted in each troop's memory with an accompanying plaque featuring the troop's picture and biographical information.
