Construction of the first State Memorial to honor Connecticut men and women who have served in America's military since Revolutionary War times will begin with an official ground breaking ceremony at Minuteman Park, the site of the Memorial. Veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, representing all five branches of the U.S. military -Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard - will participate in the event, and the design of the memorial will be unveiled to the public.
