Currently, a fantasy contest operator may operate in the state by partnering with a provisional fantasy contest licensee: Mohegan Tribe, Mashantucket Pequot Tribe or the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. To contract with one of these entities, you must maintain a valid license to operate or offer fantasy contests in at least one other state. If you were operating in the state prior to June 23, 2021, you must also make a payment, as described in Section 315 of the Public Act, prior to contracting to provide fantasy contest services.
When the new regulations are effective, your company must continue to have, or must establish, a relationship with one of the Tribes or the Connecticut Lottery Corporation and also receive an online gaming operator license from the Department of Consumer Protection. The initial license fee for an online gaming operator will be $250,000 and the annual renewal fee is $100,000.
