When visiting any of our field offices, bring all available information with you. No appointments necessary; however, if you have a complex issue or need a special accommodation, please contact the department ahead of time so we can be prepared to give you the help needed. HARTFORD  - MAIN OFFICE - Located at 450 Columbus Blvd.

Municipal parking is available for a fee at the Morgan Street Garage located on Morgan Street.  (get directions).
On-street parking on Columbus Boulevard is only available in 2-hour intervals on a paid basis from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm.  Parking is strictly prohibited from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm due to rush hour traffic.

FROM 91 SOUTH

Take Exit 32A -32B Trumbull St.

Turn left onto Market St.

Turn left onto Morgan St.

Turn right onto Columbus Blvd.

Morgan Street garage is on your right.

FROM 91 NORTH

Take Exit 32A -32B Trumbull St.

Turn left onto Market St.

Turn left onto Morgan St.

Turn right onto Columbus Blvd.

From 84 - WESTBOUND

Take EXIT 50 (US-44 W/S.Main ST)

At the light turn LEFT onto Trumbull St.

Sharp left onto Morgan St.

Turn right onto Columbus Blvd.

FROM 84 – EASTBOUND

Take EXIT 50 (Main St.)

Continue straight

Cross Trumbull St.

Cross Main St.

Cross Market St.

On the 4th light turn right onto Columbus Blvd.

Morgan Street garage is on your right.

BRIDGEPORT - Located at 10 Middle Street

From Interstate 95 North take exit 27-A to the Route 25 connector, then take exit 2, Golden Hill Street.  At the second intersection take a right onto Middle Street. Proceed two blocks to John Street.  Take a left onto John Street.  There is a parking garage on your left. There is a charge for parking in the garage.

From Interstate 95 South, take Exit 27, Lafayette Boulevard. At the end of the ramp bear right, Downtown and North. Proceed on Lafayette Blvd. to the third traffic light, turn right onto John Street. Go three blocks to the corner of John and Middle Street. There is a parking garage on your left.

From Merritt Parkway South, also known as Route 15 South, take Exit 52 (Route 8 South) to Bridgeport. Take Exit 3 off Route 8, Main Street and Washington Street. Bear left on the ramp to Main Street South. At the third light turn left onto Golden Hill Street. Take next right onto Middle Street. Proceed through the traffic light. Ten Middle Street will be on your left.

From Merritt Parkway North also known as Route 15 North, Take Exit 49, Route 25 South to Bridgeport. Take Exit 3 Main Street and Washington Street. Bear left on ramp to Main Street South. At the third light turn left onto Golden Hill Street. Take first right onto Middle Street. Proceed through traffic light. Ten Middle Street will be on your left.

Parking is available, for a charge, in the parking garage on John street. Revenue Services is located on the first floor of 10 Middle Street.

NORWICH - Located at 401 Thames Street, Building #700

FROM THE NORTH:

1-395 South to Exit 80 toward Downtown Norwich/Salem.  Follow to Exit 80 directions below.

FROM THE WEST:

Follow Route 2 East. Merge onto 1-395 S/Governor John Davis Lodge Turnpike via Exit 28S toward CT-2A S/New Haven. Go 2.5 miles and take the CT-82 exit, Exit 80. Follow exit 80 directions below.

FROM THE SOUTH:

1-395 North.  Merge onto CT-2A E via Exit 79A toward Preston/Ledyard. Go .7 miles and take the CT-32 exit, Exit 1, toward Norwich/Uncasville.  Go .4 miles and turn left onto Norwich New London Turnpike/CT-32. Continue to follow CT-32. Go 1.8 miles and turn left into the Thames complex.  The DRS is located in the first building on the left.  There is a visitor's parking to the right of the building.

FROM THE EAST:

US-6 West.  Stay straight to 1-395 SOUTH. Take Exit 80 toward Downtown Norwich/Salem. Take the CT-82 exit, Exit 80. Follow the Exit 80 directions below.

EXIT 80 DIRECTIONS

Exit 80 toward Downtown Norwich/Salem. Go .3 miles and turn left onto CT-82/Salem Turnpike. Go 1.1 miles and turn right onto Dunham Street. Go .9 miles and turn right onto W Thames Street/CT-32.  Go .6 miles and turn right into the Thames complex. The DRS is located in the first building on the left.  There is a visitor's parking to the right of the building.

WATERBURY - Rowland Government Center Building - 55 West Main Street, Suite 100

From 84 West, take Exit 21 (Meadow and Bank St)
Go straight off the exit and bear right onto Meadow St.
Go to the third stoplight and take a right onto W. Main St.
Go to the second stoplight and bear to the right staying on West Main St.
At the next light, the building will be on the right at the corner of West Main St. and Leavenworth St.

From 84 East, take Exit 21 (Meadow and Bank St.)
Take a right onto Meadow St.
Go to the Fifth Stoplight and take a right onto W. Main St.
Go to the Second Stoplight and bear to the right, staying on West Main St.
At the next light, the building will be on the right at the corner of West main St and Leavenworth St.

From Route 8 Southbound, take Exit 32 (Riverside Ave)
Take the first left onto Freight St.
Go to the end of Freight St. and take a right onto W. Main St.
Go to the first stoplight and take a right onto West Main St.
Go to the second stoplight and bear to the right, staying on West Main St.
At the next light, the building will be on the right at the corner of West Main St. and Leavenworth St.

From Route 8 Northbound, take Exit 31 (Rt. 84 East)
Stay in this lane and get off Exit 21 (Meadow & Bank St.)
Take a right onto Meadow St.
Go to the Fifth Stoplight and take a right onto W. Main St.
Go to the Second Stoplight and bear to the right, staying on West Main St.
At the next light, the building will be on the right at the corner of West Main St and Leavenworth St.

Municipal parking available off Bank Street, Field Street and Flower St.

Connecticut Return Preparation:   We ask that you arrive no later than 4:00 p.m. if you are applying for a Connecticut tax registration number or if you need assistance in completing a state tax return.

To have your Connecticut income tax return completed, you must bring:

  • Your completed federal income tax return;1
  • Your social security card (and joint filer's social security card if you are filing a joint return);
  • State copies of all W-2 forms and any other forms showing Connecticut tax withheld;
  • Property tax payment information if you paid property tax in Connecticut on your home or motor vehicle.  You should bring the property tax bill from the Connecticut town or city marked showing payment date and payment amount; or a copy of the property tax bill with a copy of your cancelled check made payable to the Town or City, or a printout from the town showing the bill paid on time;
  • Government issued Photo Identification (driver's license, passport, or other government issued photo id) you and, if filing jointly, for the joint filer.

NOTE: Both filers must be present if you are filing a joint return.
