Asbestos abatement site supervisors and asbestos abatement workers must complete initial and refresher training courses in order to be certified by the Department of Public Health (DPH). Similarly, asbestos consultants are required to complete initial and refresher training courses to be licensed by the DPH. The providers of these training courses must be approved by the DPH.
The Environmental Practitioner Licensure Program certifies, licenses and regulates environmental health professionals in the Asbestos, Lead, Septic, and Sanitarian disciplines. The Unit is also responsible for the approval of training courses required for the licensure, certification, and renewal of such licenses.
