ADA Paratransit Bus Services

Mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, paratransit services are provided in all areas with local fixed route bus services for people who can't use the local bus system due to their disability.
 
Connecticut ADA Paratransit Resource Center (www.ctada.com)
Before using any ADA paratransit service, rider eligibility for the service must be established. Access the statewide paratransit eligibility application form (online or downloadable) through the Connecticut ADA Paratransit Resource Center website.  

Estuary Transit District d.b.a. 9 Town Transit (www.9towntransit.com)
Estuary Transit District provides ADA paratransit service six days per week, Monday through Saturday, in the U.S. Route 1 corridor between Madison, Clinton, Westbrook and Old Saybrook. The District also provides demand response and/or deviated fixed route service in the towns of Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook. Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority (www.gogbt.com)
The District provides ADA paratransit service to qualified individuals who have both trip origins and destinations within a 3/4 mile radius of an operating GBTA public bus route. Greater Hartford Transit District (www.hartfordtransit.org)
The District provides ADA paratransit service in the Hartford region seven days a week during the same hours the fixed route bus operates. Communities served include Bloomfield, Bristol, Cromwell, East Hartford, Ellington, Farmington, Glastonbury, Hartford, Kensington, Manchester, Middletown, New Britain, Newington, Plainville, Rocky Hill, South Windsor, Vernon, West Hartford, Wethersfield, Windsor, and Windsor Locks. For information call 860-247-5329; for ADA ride reservations call 860-724-5340.

Greater New Haven Transit District (www.gnhtd.org)
The District provides ADA paratransit service to the New Haven area, including Branford, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, West Haven, Woodbridge. Limited dial-a-ride service is provided to Ansonia, Cheshire, Guilford, Madison, Seymour, Shelton, Wallingford and Waterbury. HARTransit (HART) (www.HARTransit.com)
ADA paratransit is available seven days per week during the same operating hours as the fixed route bus in Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, and New Milford. For ride reservations and information call 203-744-4070.

Middletown Transit District (MAT) (www.middletownareatransit.org)
ADA paratransit service is available Monday through Saturday during the same hours as the fixed route bus. Call 860-346-0212 for information.

Milford Transit District (www.milfordtransit.com)

Northeast Transportation Company (www.northeastbus.com)
ADA paratransit service in the greater Waterbury area is provided by Northeast Transportation Company, serving the towns of Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Prospect, Waterbury, Watertown, and Wolcott. Service is provided during the same days and hours as the fixed route bus. The ADA reservation number is 203-756-5550.

ADA paratransit service is also provided to Meriden and Wallingford by Northeast Transportation Company. Service is provided during the same days and hours as the fixed route bus. The ADA reservation number is 1-800-441-8901.

Norwalk Transit District (www.norwalktransit.com)
ADA service is provided to Norwalk, Stamford, Westport and 3/4 mile radius of an operating CTtransit bus route in Greenwich and Darien. Service is provided during the same days and hours as the fixed route bus. For information and reservations call 203-299-5180.

Southeast Area Transit District (SEAT) (www.seatbus.com)
ADA paratransit service is provided within a 3/4 mile radius and during the same days and hours as the fixed route bus. For a reservation and information call 860-439-0062.

Valley Transit District (www.valleytransit.org)
Complementary ADA paratransit service is provided Monday through Saturday to the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, and Shelton. Service is provided by Valley Transit District on weekdays until 5 p.m., and by Greater New Haven Transit District on weekdays after 5 p.m. and on Saturdays. Windham Region Transit District (www.wrtd.org)
