The relocated Route 72 in Bristol and Plainville involves the construction of a four lane arterial highway with appropriate turning lanes from the vicinity of the present terminus of the existing Route 72 expressway at Forestville Ave. (Route 372) to the vicinity of Middle St. (approximately 2.4 miles). A raised median treatment to separate traffic from Route 372 to Pine and Todd St. The project also provides over 2 miles of additional state and local roadway improvements. | |
Status |
The contractor will be continuing with the construction of the additional retaining wall along the railroad tracks adjacent to Route 72 and the retaining wall at the south west corner of Mountain Road and Middle Street during this winter.
