The Connecticut Department of Transportation furnishes price information for various commodities that are adjusted in contracts to account for market fluctuations.
Effective July 1, 2013, price information is available for Fuel and Asphalt only. CEMENT AND REINFORCING STEEL ARE NO LONGER PUBLISHED. Information about price adjustments are available at Engineering News-Record (ENR), Construction Economics section or at ENR website http://www.enr.com under “Economics”. To get access to information you must be a subscriber to ENR.
Instructions and applicable specifications for calculating the adjustments are contained in the specific ConnDOT Contract Specifications. Please note that new postings for the week will be available on Wednesdays.
Asphalt Price Adjustment (PDF 90KB)
The Asphalt Adjustment Cost is the method of price adjustment for increases and decreases associated with changes in the price of the performance-graded binder component of bituminous concrete mixtures hot-mix asphalt (HMA). Asphalt prices through the previous Friday are posted to the website by Wednesday of each week.
Fuel Price Adjustment (PDF 71.2KB)
The Fuel Cost Adjustment is the method of price adjustment for increases and decreases associated with the price of diesel fuel used to perform contract work. Fuel Cost Adjustments will be made if the difference between the Fuel Base Price and Fuel Period Price is greater than five percent (5%).
