About Us
The Office of Construction Advisory Team's primary role is to continually provide technical support to the Connecticut Department of Transportation units to improve the design, construction, and administration of various statewide construction projects. Also serving primarily as a link between designers and construction engineers, the goal of the team is to accomplish the following:
- Emphasize the application of construction best practices and consistency through the proper use of Contract Plans and Specifications, the Construction Manual, the Municipal Manual, and Construction Inspectors Checklists.
- Serve as a resource to design engineers to help develop project designs and formulate Contracts that can be administrated efficiently by the various Construction Districts to minimize construction issues.
- Promote quality finished projects through the use of well-developed plans, specifications, and guidance documents.
- Conduct periodic field reviews in order to determine and disseminate lessons learned feedback to construction and design engineers.
- Identify reoccurring design and construction issues and inconsistent construction practices throughout construction districts and make recommendations for improvement.
- To achieve the following measureable outcomes:
- Improve targeted Performance Measures for the Department Bureau of Engineering and Construction.
- Improve Effective Resource utilization.
