Rehabilitation of Bridge 01602 Carrying SSR 454 over Indian Hole Brook in Shelton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Bridge 01602 has been reduced to one lane with alternating one-way traffic to facilitate the start construction to rehabilitate the structure. This lane reduction and traffic pattern will be in effect until the completion of the project, on or about November 16, 2020.

The project consists of upgrading the parapets for safety, improving the profile for roadway drainage, replacing the existing superstructure with a new reinforced concrete slab, topping the deck with membrane waterproofing and a bituminous concrete overlay, and patching and repairing the substructure as needed.

DOT Project No. 126-172 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $2,005,840.00 on October 13, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed November 16, 2020.
