Intermittent Nighttime Lane Closures on I-84 East and West in West Hartford Beginning in March

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction and intermittent nightly lane closures of I-84 east and westbound travel lanes in West Hartford beginning on March 2, 2020, and extending through the 2020 construction season. The intermittent lane closures are necessary as part of the safety and operational improvements project on I-84 in West Hartford.

Lane closures will be in effect between Exit 39A and Exit 43 in the east and westbound directions of I-84, and will continue throughout the 2020 construction season.

I-84 Eastbound: Travel lanes may be closed nightly Monday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

I-84 Westbound: Travel lanes may be closed nightly Monday through Friday from  8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

DOT Project No. 0155-0171 was awarded to O&G Industries, Inc. at a cost of $54,622,567.16 on January 21, 2020, and is anticipated to be completed summer of 2023.
