Upcoming Scheduled Weekend Road Closures on Route 133 over the Housatonic River in Bridgewater and Brookfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing upcoming scheduled weekend closures and detour of Route 133 in Bridgewater and Brookfield to facilitate construction activities on Bridge 01343 carrying Route 133 over the Housatonic River.

The first closure will begin Friday, October 11, 2019,  at 10:00 PM and last until 5:00 AM,  Monday morning, October 14, 2019. The second closure will take place Friday, October 18, 2019, at 10:00 PM and last until 5:00 AM, Monday morning,  October 21, 2019. Traffic will be detoured around the work site using Routes 133, 67, 7/202 and 25. Signing and portable message boards will be used to direct motorists.

DOT project 0018-0134 consists of the rehabilitation of Bridge 01343 carrying Route 133 over the Housatonic River in Bridgewater and Brookfield. The project was awarded to Mohawk Northeast,Inc. at a cost of $9,864,415.50, on December 18, 2018, and is scheduled to be completed by July 10, 2020.
