Scheduled Lane Closures on Route 34 in Orange

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing scheduled lane closures on Route 34 eastbound and westbound in the vicinity of Wepawaug River in Orange. The roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction between the hours of 9 PM on Friday September 27th, and 5 AM,  Monday September 30, 2019, to allow for concrete roadway slab replacements.

The work is associated with Project 0106-0127 involves the rehabilitation and safety improvements to Bridge 00948 carrying Route 34 over Wepawaug River.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and to utilize caution through this and all other construction work zones.

DOT Project No. 0106-0127 was awarded to PJF Construction Corporation on June 13, 2019, at a cost of $1,640,571.55. Construction is scheduled to be completed on or before January 3, 2020.
