Route 66 in Windham Scheduled for Three-Day Daytime Closure for Bridge Replacement Activities

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the three-day daytime closure of Route 66 at Natchaug River in Windham to facilitate the replacement of Bridge Number 00490. The closures will occur on Wednesday, February 13, Thursday, February 14, and Friday, February 15, 2019, all starting at 7 AM and reopening to traffic at 7 PM.
  
Detour Information

Route 66 East: Turn right onto Route 14 East then left onto Route 203 North.
Route 66 West: Turn left onto Route 203 South then right onto Route 14 West.

The project consists of the demolition of Bridge 00490 over the Natchaug River and construction of a new bridge. It also involves utility relocations and new sewer main. The road closure will be implemented to remove the existing bridge beams from the site.

DOT Project No. 0163-0203 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company, Inc., of Avon, CT, at a cost of $5,815,583.75 on July 5, 2017 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2019.
