Retaining Wall Reinforcement along Route 44 in Norfolk

     

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that retaining wall reinforcement will be performed on Route 44 in Norfolk, beginning Saturday, January 12, 2019. 

The work consists of placing a temporary retaining wall structure in front of an existing retaining wall on Route 44 in Norfolk. This project is scheduled to occur Saturday, January 12, 2019 to Wednesday January 16, 2019.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 44 between Route 272 (North) and Old Colony Road. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. Route 44 westbound traffic will be detoured onto Route 272 and Old Colony Road. Route 44 Eastbound traffic will remain on Route 44 and will have periodic lane closures to facilitate construction. The regular work schedule for this project is 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Saturday, and Monday through Wednesday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
