Resurfacing Project on Route 80 in Killingworth and Deep River

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 80 (Deep River Rd.) in Killingworth and Deep River, Monday, September 16, through Monday, October 14, 2019.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 7.72 mile segment of Route 80 in Killingworth and Deep River.  The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2019, through Monday, September 23, 2019.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, through Monday, October 14, 2019.  Work will be performed on Columbus Day, Monday October 14.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2019 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 80 from Route 81 in Killingworth to Route 154 in Deep River.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
