Replacement of Bridge 02540 Carrying Route 85 over Little Brook in Salem

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction for the replacement of Bridge 02540 carrying Route 85 over Little Brook in Salem.

Construction will involve lane shifts on Route 85 to replace the existing stone masonry structure with a 12-foot by 8.5-foot precast box culvert and trimming of trees to improve sight lines at the intersection with Witch Meadow Road.

DOT Project No. 0120-0093 was awarded to The Brunalli Construction Company at a cost of $1,305,284.50, on August 30, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed by November 23, 2020.

Motorists can expect intermittent temporary lane closures in the project area as the work progresses.

Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
