Rehabilitation of the I-84/Sisson Avenue Interchange in Hartford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the restart of work, including lane closures on local roads, beginning on April 1, 2019, for the rehabilitation of the I-84/ Sisson Avenue Interchange in Hartford.  Bridge and ramp surface repairs and lane closures on I-84 are scheduled for the 2019 construction season.

The project consists of patching the concrete deck, installation of a new membrane and overlay, new deck joints, cleaning scuppers, cleaning and painting of fixed bearings, girders end repairs and spot painting as needed, steel repairs and substructure repairs.

DOT Project No. 0063-0708 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company, Inc. at a cost of $17,869,377.86 on April 16, 2018 and is scheduled to be completed in November of 2019.

LANE CLOSURE INFO
Lane closures on I-84 WB may occur between the hours of 9 PM to 5 AM and on I-84 EB from 9 PM to 5 AM. Times will vary based on the day of the week and location of the closure. Lane closures on adjacent local streets and associated ramps may occur Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Nightly Traffic Detours should be anticipated for Sisson Avenue Interchange to and from I-84 Eastbound and Westbound beginning April 1, 2019, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. Applicable detour signs will be installed and in place during closures.
