Railroad Crossing Repairs in Wethersfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that railroad crossing repairs will be performed on the Route 3 (Maple Street) railroad crossing, east of Route 99 (Silas Deane Highway) in Wethersfield, beginning Friday, October 11, 2019.

 

The railroad crossing repairs will require Route 3 (Maple Street) east of Route 99 (Silas Deane Highway) in Wethersfield to be closed for consecutive days beginning on Friday evening, October 11, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. to Monday afternoon, October 14th, 2019 at 4:00 p.m., unless the work is completed sooner.

 

This work is being performed by Providence and Worcester Railroad Company in cooperation with the Department of Transportation.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Route 3 eastbound motorists will have the option of following a detoured route to the north or south along Route 99 back to Route 3 via Spring Street (northbound detour) or Middletown Avenue (southbound detour).  Route 3 eastbound motorists will be detoured using the reverse detour routes described above. Traffic control personnel, police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The detour is scheduled to be in place from 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 through 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019 unless the work is completed sooner.

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity and through all work zones.
