Pedestrian Upgrades along East Street in New Britain

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that pedestrian upgrades will be performed on Route 174 (East Street) in New Britain, Tuesday, September 10, through Friday, September 13, 2019. 

 

The pedestrian upgrades consist of updating ADA ramps, crosswalk buttons, and pavement markings on Route 174 at the intersections of Newington Avenue and East Main Street in New Britain.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures to occur on Route 174 (East St.) at the intersections of Newington Avenue and East Main Street. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weekdays). 

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
