Nighttime Milling and Paving on South Main Street (Route 177), Mill Street, School Street and Main Street (Route 4) in Farmington

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing nighttime milling and paving of a section of roadway on South Main Street (Route 177) in the vicinity of and including portions of Mill Street, School Street and Main Street (Route 4) in Farmington.  All work is weather permitting and is scheduled to start Thursday night, October 17, 2019.

The roadway construction will involve milling and paving 3 inches of pavement along South Main Street (Route 177) from the bridge over the Farmington River to the intersection of Main Street (Route 4) and Lovely Street (Route 177).

The construction will include various lane closures during the nighttime hours between 7:00PM and 6:00AM.

Milling is scheduled to begin on Thursday night, October 17, and if not completed, the remaining areas will be completed on Friday night, October 18, 2019. Paving is scheduled to begin Sunday night, October 20, with line striping Monday night, October 21, 2019.

Traffic delays can be expected. It is recommended that motorists avoid the area if possible during construction activities.
