Milling and Resurfacing Project, Route 89 in Ashford and Union

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.56 mile segment of Route 89 in Ashford and Union. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2019, through Wednesday, October 2, 2019.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Thursday, October 3, 2019, through Monday, October 14, 2019.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2019 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 89 from the north junction of Westford Hill Road in Ashford to Route 190 in Union.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
