Guiderail Upgrade on I-91 Northbound in Meriden and Middletown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that guiderail upgrades will continue on I-91 Northbound in Meriden and Middletown through Friday, October 25, 2019.

The project consists of upgrading guiderail over a 5.31-mile segment of I-91 Northbound from 0.40 miles north of Exit 18 to the Middletown/Cromwell Town Line (Exit 21). 

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s VIP Safety Improvements Project.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on I-91 Northbound in Meriden and Middletown .40 mile north of Exit 18, to Exit 21 Cromwell.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns, truck mounted attenuator units and State Police will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for upgrading the guiderail is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. (Monday- Friday) 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
