Closure of Route 34 in from Route 111 to Bridge Street

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 34 will be closed from Route 111 in Monroe to Route 110 in Shelton for the construction of the Derby Pump Station, Friday, August 16, through Monday, August 19, 2019.

The contractor’s work will be consist of setting a crane on Route 34 in the vicinity of Cemetery Road to construct the new pump station.  Route 34 will be closed to through traffic and tractor trailers.  Posted detours will be in effect.  Local traffic will be allowed on Route 34 at various locations between the Route 111 and State Route 712 (Bridge Street) while avoiding the crane operations.  The work is anticipated to continue until Monday, August 19, 2019. 

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect Route 34 to be closed from Route 111 to State Route 712 (Bridge Street) from Friday, August 16, 2019 at 8:00 PM to Monday, August 19, 2019 at 5:00 AM.  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
