Bridge Repairs on I-84 Eastbound Over Route 6 in Farmington

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that bridge repairs on I-84 eastbound over Route 6 in Farmington will begin on Monday, April 1, 2019.

The project involves the repair of substructure concrete, repair and painting of structural steel, maintenance and replacement of bridge bearings, repair of concrete bridge decking, and replacement of bridge expansion joints.  I-84 eastbound at Exit 39 in Farmington will be reduced from three to two through-lanes to facilitate the construction activities.

DOT Project No. 0174-0403 was awarded to McNamee Construction Corporation on November 11, 2017, at a cost of $10,523,259.70, and is scheduled to be completed by October 4, 2019.

LANE CLOSURE INFO
The contractor will keep two lanes open to traffic between the hours of 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM weekdays,  6:00 AM and 10:00 PM Saturday, and 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Sundays. Additional lane closures are permitted at other times during nighttime hours. Additional restrictions to one through-lane will occasionally be necessary at night for changes to construction stages.  The left hand Exit 39 will remain open in a narrowed configuration with a reduced speed limit.
