Bridge Maintenance on Interstate 95 North and South in Branford and Madison

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on Interstate 95 northbound and southbound in Branford and Madison, Monday, August 12, through Friday, September 13, 2019.

 

The project consists of Structural Steel Repairs to the Cherry Hill Rd. Bridge #00189; Featherbed Lane Bridge #00197; Leetes Island Rd. Bridge #00199 and SSR 450 Bridge #00218 over Interstate 95.

 

The work is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2019 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Hammonasset Construction.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Interstate 95 North and South between Exit 53 (Short Beach) and Exit 63 (Rt.81) in Clinton.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am. (Monday through Thursday evenings).  No lane closures will occur from 6:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2019 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
