Nighttime Bridge Deck Repairs and Resurfacing on Route 34 in New Haven

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling, bridge deck repairs and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 34 in New Haven, Friday, August 9, through Friday, September 13, 2019.

 

The project consists of milling, bridge deck repairs and resurfacing of the Route 34 bridge over US 1 (Columbus Plaza) and CSX Railroad in New Haven.  This project is scheduled to occur the evening of Friday, August 9, 2019 to the morning of Friday, September 13, 2019.

 

No work will occur from 6:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2019 through Monday, September 2, 2019; work will resume at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

 

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2019 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 34 from North Frontage Road to the junction of Interstate 91 and Interstate 95.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
