New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) Rail Program

Construction Update: Town of Windsor

(Railroad Crossing Work: Revised Paving Schedule – Overnight/Weekend Work)

October 2017

The following railroad crossings in Windsor will be closed to through traffic to accommodate roadway paving:

Meadow Road Railroad Crossing (*New Activity*): Beginning on Tuesday, October 3rd at 6:00 a.m. and continuing through Wednesday, October 4th at 3:00 p.m.

Island Road Railroad Crossing (*Revised Start Date*): Previously scheduled for Thursday, October 5th, work will now begin on Wednesday, October 4th at 7:00 a.m. and continue through Saturday, October 7th at 3:00 p.m.

There will be construction noise throughout this period and temporary lighting to support overnight work in the area.

Traffic personnel will be in place throughout the duration of the closure. Signs, variable message boards and detour routes alerting the public of the detour/closure will be posted on-site.

This work is part of the overall upgrade of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line – now branded as the CTrail Hartford Line – scheduled to begin expanded service in May 2018.
