Weekend Closure of Route 20 in East Granby for Construction Activities for the Replacement of Bridge 06705 - Route 20 over Muddy Brook
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled weekend closure of Route 20 in East Granb to facilitate ongoing construction activities related to the replacement of Bridge 06705, which carries Route 20 over Muddy Brook. The closure will begin on Friday, July 21 at 7:00 PM, and the roadway will reopen on Monday, July 24, at 6:00 AM.
The project consists of the removal of the existing culvert and installation of a new Box Culvert under Rte. 20 and replacement of the existing headwall and wingwalls. The project also involves roadway reconstruction including excavation and paving in the area of the culvert, installation of metal beam rail and plantings. 
DOT Project No. 0039-0099 was awarded to NJR Construction LLC, of Torrington, CT, at a cost of $753,951.12 on September 27, 2016, and is scheduled to be completed in August 2017.
