Resurfacing Project on Route 49 (North St.) in Stonington and North Stonington

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 49 (North St.) in Stonington and North Stonington, beginning Friday, August 11, 2017.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.13 mile segment of Route 49 (North St.) in Stonington

and North Stonington.  The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Friday, August 11, 2017, and Monday, August 14, 2017.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Thursday, August 24, 2017, through Friday, September 1, 2017.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 49 (North St.) between Route 2 (Liberty St.) in Stonington to Route 216 (Clarks Falls Rd.) in North Stonington.  Two (2) local policemen, one (1) American Ind. Inc. traffic controller, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
