Resurfacing Project along Route 6 in Windham and Chaplin

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a pavement preservation, milling and resurfacing project will continue on Route 6 in Windham and Chaplin through Wednesday, August 30, 2017.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.86 mile segment of Route 6 in Windham and Chaplin.  The milling segment for this project will run through Friday, August 4, 2017, during the daytime and Sunday, August 6, 2017 through Friday, August 11, 2017, during the nighttime.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, July 30, 2017, through Wednesday, August 30, 2017, during the nighttime.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2017 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 6 from Tuckie Road in Windham to Phoenixville Road in Chaplin.  Three (3) State troopers and signing patterns will be utilized for the milling and two (2) State troopers, one (1) certified traffic controller, and signing patters will be utilized for the paving to guide motorists through the work zone.  The work schedule for the daytime milling is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday to Friday) and the work schedule for the nighttime milling and paving is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday to Friday).  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
