Resurfacing Project along Route 161 (Flanders Rd.) in East Lyme and Montville

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 161 (Flanders Road) in East Lyme and Montville, beginning Monday, August 7, 2017.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.66 mile segment of Route 161 (Flanders Rd.) in East Lyme and Montville.  The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Monday, August 7, 2017.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, August 14, 2017, through Thursday, August 24, 2017.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 161 (Flanders Rd.) between Route 1 (Flanders Rd.) in

East Lyme to Route 85 (Hartford- New London Tpk.) in Montville.  Two (2) local policemen, one (1) American Ind. Inc. traffic controller, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
